Equity indices extended the fall on second consecutive session on the first day of new financial year 2025-26
The market participants remained concerned ahead of the anticipated rollout of US President Donald Trump’s reciprocal tariffs on April 2
Sensex was down 1,390.41 points or 1.80 percent at 76,024.51
Nifty was down 353.65 points or 1.50 percent at 23,165.70
Except media (up 2 percent), oil & gas (up 0.6 percent), telecom (up 2 percent)
All other indices ended in the red with IT, realty, consumer durables shed 2-3 percent each
Midcap index was down 1 percent and smallcap index ended on a flat note
FIIs continued their selling on the second consecutive session on April 1 as they sold equities worth Rs 5901 crore
DIIs continued their buying on the third consecutive day as they bought equities of Rs 4322 crore
Awaiting clarity from Trump regarding his tariff policy rollout. White House asserted that Trump’s tariffs would go into effect “immediately” once they are announced
President Trump is expected to deliver remarkets at 4 PM ET
White House confirmed tariffs will be “effective immediately”
The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite both closed higher on Tuesday
The S&P 500 gained 21.22 points, or 0.38%
Nasdaq Composite climbed 150.60 points, or 0.87%
Dow Jones Industrial Average edged down 11.80 points, or 0.03%
Tesla up 3.5%

Dollar Index at 104.2
Brent Crude at $74.6/barrel
Bitcoin bounces back to 83103$
Gold at $3,113/ounce, Relative Strength Index (RSI) at 70+, indicates overbought zone
Silver -1.5% at $33.5/ounce
Asian markets were set to higher opening in early trade
Nikkei up 0.1% and Hangseng up 0.5%

GiftNifty indicates a flat opening for the index
Nifty is facing a intraday resistance 23200 and 23260
If stays above 23260 will try to move 23350

On other side, Nifty considering a supports 23120 and 23050
Below 23050 finding a next support around 22960
