Nifty last close: 24286.50
Bulls were back in action on Dalal Street on July 3
Both the benchmarks crossed major milestones led by buying across sectors
Sensex was up 545.35 points or 0.69 percent at 79,986.80
Nifty was up 162.65 points or 0.67 percent at 24,286.50
Sensex and Nifty50 touched record highs of 80,074.3 and 24,309.15, respectively
Nifty Bank index also touched fresh high of 53,256.70 during the day and ended 1.77 percent higher at 53,089.25
Biggest gainers on the Nifty were Tata Consumer Products, Adani Ports, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Axis Bank and HDFC Bank
while losers were TCS, Titan Company, Reliance Industries, Tata Motors and Hindalco Industries
Among sectors, except media, all other sectoral indices ended in the green
Power, capital goods, bank and metal up 1-2 percent
Midcap and smallcap indices rose nearly 1 percent each
FIIs turned net buyers as they sold equities worth Rs 5,483.63 crore on July 3
while domestic institutional investors sold equities worth Rs 924 crore
US markets ended higher on July 3
Dow ended flat, Nasdaq and S&P500 rallied 0.5% to 1%
