Benchmark indices snapped a seven-day gaining streak to end lower with modest losses on April 24
At close, the Sensex slipped 314.50 points, or 0.39 percent, to end at 79,801.99
Nifty shed 84.25 points, or 0.35 percent, to settle at 24,244.70
The FMCG index was the day’s worst performer, sinking over one percent
Nifty Pharma index surged nearly one percent, powered by gains in Natco Pharma, Divi’s Laboratories

Reliance Industries, Maruti Suzuki India, RBL Bank, Tata Technologies, L&T Finance, Cholamandalam Investment and Finance, DCB Bank, Force Motors, Hindustan Zinc, Chennai Petroleum Corporation, Dr Lal PathLabs, Lloyds Metals and Energy, Bank of Maharashtra, Mahindra Lifespace Developers, Motilal Oswal Financial Services, Oracle Financial Services Software, Poonawalla Fincorp, Rossari Biotech, Shriram Finance, Tejas Networks, VST Industries, Zenotech Laboratories, and Zensar Technologies will release their quarterly earnings on April 25.

Benchmark indices Nifty and Sensex wrapped up the session on a high note, notching their seventh straight day gains
Sensex was up 520.90 points or 0.65 percent at 80,116.49
Nifty was up 161.70 points or 0.67 percent at 24,328.95
The Nifty Midcap 100 rose over 1 percent, while the Smallcap 100 gained 0.4 percent
Among sectors, Nifty IT led the pack with gains of over 4 percent
Nifty Auto continued its strong performance, rising nearly 2 percent
Pharma and Realty indices also gained around 1 percent each
Nifty Bank and PSU indices slipped 0.6 percent each
FIIs extended their buying on the sixth day as they bought equities worth Rs 3332 crore on April 23
DIIs continued selling on second day as they sold equities of Rs 1234 crore on the same day
Wall Street stocks advanced on Wednesday on revived hopes for progress in the US-China trade dispute
